Urban World is a Danish label with focus on a mixture of genres within world music, funk, folk, jazz and dub combined with electronic music and club vibes. Now is out their 12th release signed by Solo Moderna,Dutch producer that sent us this eclectic mixtape and a little message from Mikael Palner, the man in charge of the label.
“Hi friends, we have been getting massive feedback on our new release even before release date. After Solo Moderna made a remix of “Oriol Vandela’s “Music Man” we were very keen on getting him back to produce a full EP. Here is the result: a mash-up of what you think is genres into something new and beautiful. The title track “Sonido Pouble” is an original nuevo cumbia, not just a bootleg or mashup of old tunes like you hear massively these days. Puble comes from the French junk or waistbin and refers to the hometown organization Poubelle where Solo Moderna mostly buy his vegetables but also instruments like waisted 10 euro guitars, drums, xilophones etc. witch he have been using on Sonido Pouble. So in fact it’s a junk- or waistbin sonido!
