Criminals?
Recently I realised how much, people could be surprised discovering that part of their favourite songs from the 90’s (and nowadays) were a kind of “cut and sew” from older beats, riffs, funky horns or what else.
Sometimes is a little sample, sometimes is nothing but a whole song sounding above someone’s else spoken words and sometimes (the BEST times) it’s a freaking-out-melting-pot of sounds,it becomes hard to figure out what’s in it,but it sounds good… SO GOOD!
The point is: where does the steals ends and the ‘ART’ starts???
I was thinking on posting something about it.
“Copyright Criminals” is just… PERFECT. And really interesting.
And if you think that sampling is not an art, enjoy this promo from Eclectic Method (and of course check out their works… Amazing).
